Apply for the Medical Baseline Program
Do you depend on electricity for your medical needs?
PG&E’s Medical Baseline program provides additional energy at the lowest price for gas and electric customers who are dependent on life-support equipment and/or require special heating or cooling needs for certain medical conditions.
Medical Baseline customers also receive extra outreach during a PSPS, which may include additional notifications, phone calls or a door knock to ensure they're aware and can make preparations to stay safe.
Learn about backup power
We understand how disruptive it is for our customers to be without power, so we encourage all customers to plan for an emergency and to be prepared for any extended outages due to extreme weather or natural disasters. To help you plan, PG&E provides information about backup power solutions, how to purchase them, and how to operate them safely at pge.com/backuppower.
Not a PG&E account holder? Sign up for PSPS ZIP Code alerts
Those who are not PG&E account holders can receive PSPS event notifications by ZIP Code. This is especially useful for tenants, caretakers, travelers, parents of school-age children and other non-account holders. The system allows you to select the ZIP Code(s) that you want to receive PSPS notifications for. Notifications are not address-specific as they are only based on the ZIP Code provided.
Those who are interested in ZIP Code notifications can sign up for voice or text message alerts by calling 1-877-9000-PGE or texting “ENROLL” to 97633. More information about the tool is available at pge.com/pspszipcodealerts.
