We want to help you and your roommates manage your PG&E account. Check out our list of useful tools and programs for sharing the responsibility, below.
If one roommate is responsible for collecting money and making payments on behalf of the household, we recommend you ask to see the bill every month. Or, add each roommate’s name to the account so that everyone’s obligated to pay the bill on time and is aware of the amount of energy used.
It’s easy. New or existing customers just need to provide a few pieces of information to get started.
To add or remove someone from your account, call Customer Service at 1-800-743-5000. If someone new is moving in, you can either 1) allow them only to receive information about the account or 2) authorize them to be financially responsible and able to make updates to the account.
Sign up to have your roommate or a relative (or any person you choose) receive a notification if you have a late or unpaid bill.
Two or more adults who occupy the same premises are jointly liable for all bills for energy supplied, per Applications Section B of Rule 3 of our Electric Tariffs.
