Please call right away. We rely on customers like you to tell us when your power is out. You are an important part of our ability to identify and respond to damage caused by storms, heat, accidents and other incidents that can affect power lines. If we have the correct phone number for your service address on file when you call, we can provide more accurate info about your outage.
PLEASE NOTE: If you’re unsure whether we have the correct phone number on file, please call us anytime at 1-800-PGE-5000. Don't wait for a storm to update your phone number.
If your power outage lasts for more than 48 hours, call our special outage hotline to learn more about the outage, and services that are available: (1-888-743-4743 or 1-888-PGE-4PGE).
The PG&E Service Guarantee program covers outages that are not caused by emergency events such as severe storm conditions. Under this program, we credit your bill $25 for each 24-hour period after you have been without power for 24 hours.
The program's intent is to acknowledge the inconvenience of residential customers who are without power for 48 hours or longer due to severe events, such as storms.
PG&E shareholders fund the voluntary program.
The check has no bearing on your right to submit a claim. Get more info. Visit Our Claims Policy and Process. We send the check to acknowledge the inconvenience the extended outage caused you.
In most cases, we consult our internal records to identify customers who are eligible to receive checks. However, if your power was out for more than 48 hours and you do not receive a check within 60 days of the outage, please call 1-800-743-5000.
This storm inconvenience payment is only for residential customers.
