This authorization provides your consent for PG&E to share customer data with a third-party Demand Response Provider (DRP). A third-party DRP cannot provide you with demand response services until you complete the authorization.
Examples of the types of information that PG&E will provide to DRPs: customer’s name associated with the electric account, service address, rate schedule, meter type, electric usage data and PG&E demand response program enrollment information.
Third-party DRPs work directly with customers to facilitate the enrollment process. The process varies by DRP, but a required step is for the customer to give PG&E consent to share their data with the DRP. To do so, the customer completes PG&E’s Rule 24 data-sharing authorization. The purpose of this authorization is described in the FAQ above.
When you no longer wish to participate in the program, email your DRP directly and request to be unenrolled. Below is a list of some of the DRPs serving PG&E electric customers.
If you’re not sure who your DRP is or if your DRP is not listed above, send us an email at Rule24Program@pge.com. Please include your PG&E Account ID and service address. We’ll respond with the appropriate contact information.
In your email to the DRP requesting to unenroll, you can include a request to cancel your data sharing authorization as well. Or, to cancel your data sharing authorization on your own, contact the Rule 24 team at Rule24Program@pge.com for instructions.
No. A customer who wishes to enroll in a third-party DRP program under Rule 24 cannot participate in a PG&E demand response program at the same time. If a customer is currently enrolled in a conflicting PG&E program such as the Capacity Bidding Program, Base Interruptible Program or the Emergency Load Reduction Program (i.e., subgroups A1-A5), the customer will first need to unenroll from the PG&E program before taking service from a DRP. Similarly, if a customer is enrolled in a third-party demand response program under Rule 24, the customer would need to unenroll from the third-party program before enrolling in a PG&E Demand Response program.
To view existing data-sharing authorizations, log in to your PG&E account. Click on the ShareMyData link at the bottom of the page. The ShareMyData page will display your existing authorizations. Select “complete list” link to view additional authorization details. If you believe you are enrolled in a third-party DRP but don’t see the data-sharing authorization, please contact Rule24Program@pge.com.
Please call PG&E’s Business Customer Service Center at 1-800-468-4743. If you are an Agriculture customer, please call 1-877-311-3276.
If you move to a new service address, any data-sharing authorizations you have with third-party DRPs are cancelled automatically. If you want to continue to participate in demand response service with a DRP, work with the DRP to create an authorization for your new address.
