New modern electric meters

About our electric meter upgrades

We’re upgrading our electric meters in higher wildfire risk areas. The upgrades help to improve safety and reliability at no cost to customers. These new meters modernize your home’s connection to the grid. The meters make it easier to take advantage of new energy tools and programs as they become available. Customers benefit without the need for another meter replacement.

New electric meters and technology help us:

  • Respond faster to power outages.
  • Improve safety and detect risks on the electric grid sooner.
  • Support modern home energy use, including electric vehicle (EV) charging.
