PG&E’s commitment to San Francisco extends far beyond the safe and reliable energy we provide. Through millions of dollars in annual taxes and fees, PG&E helps fund services, programs, and infrastructure that San Franciscans rely on every day.

In 2025 alone, PG&E contributed nearly $128 million in local taxes and fees that support the City’s General Fund, which finances essential services, community programs, and public infrastructure throughout San Francisco.

That’s enough to fund the equivalent of more than 1,200 public school teachers or over 1,000 firefighters, based on publicly available salary data.

The largest components of PG&E’s 2025 contribution included property taxes ($42.5 million), utility user taxes ($35.8 million), business taxes ($20.9 million), and franchise fees ($11.8 million).

PG&E’s partnership with the City of San Francisco has remained strong over time. Since 2021, PG&E has contributed between approximately $92 million and $128 million annually in local taxes and fees, reflecting our ongoing investment in a community we’ve been privileged to serve for more than 100 years.

As we continue investing in the safety, reliability, and resilience of our energy system, we are also proud to support San Francisco’s economic vitality and contribute to the services and infrastructure that help the city’s residents thrive.
