PG&E Showcases Home Electrification at FIFA World Cup Fan Fest
The FIFA World Cup 2026 is coming to the Bay Area, and PG&E will be part of the excitement.
Starting June 11, San Pedro Square in downtown San Jose will become the region’s main spot for soccer fans. The San Jose Earthquakes, Bay Area Host Committee and SJ26 are launching a month-long soccer celebration. Fans can watch all 104 World Cup matches on big screens, visit interactive fan zones and enjoy live entertainment. Organizers expect 5,000 to 6,000 people each day during opening weekend.
PG&E is one of the featured partners, along with Kaiser Permanente and Genentech. It’s a chance to share our clean energy story at one of the biggest sports events in the world.
How PG&E is electrifying the South Bay
From June 11–14, PG&E will be in San Pedro Square, giving fans a close-up look at new technologies that can help power their homes in cleaner ways.
The main event is a showcase on Saturday, June 13. It will include:
- Live demos of heat pumps and induction cooking
- A digital tour of PG&E tools, including the Clean Energy Calculator, which helps people compare products and plan home upgrades
- Electric games and soccer activities for families
- A chance to meet a San Jose Earthquakes player
Beyond San Jose: PG&E around the Bay Area
PG&E’s World Cup activities are not limited to San Jose.
On June 9, the PG&E Foundation will support a Sports for All ribbon cutting at Life Academy in Oakland. The event is part of a larger effort to expand youth sports opportunities and support local communities before the tournament begins.
Then on June 12, fans in Oakland can watch live World Cup action at the BAHC Live Fan Fest and Watch Party at Raimondi Park. The event is hosted by the Oakland Sports Group and Oakland Ballers. Visitors can also stop by PG&E’s custom jersey station to create a jersey.
With five group-stage matches and one Round of 32 match at Levi’s Stadium, there will be many ways to enjoy the world’s biggest soccer event close to home.

The world’s biggest soccer tournament is almost here, and it gives people a chance to learn about clean energy technology that can help power their homes. Visit San Pedro Square from June 11–14 to watch the action, explore new technology and maybe even meet an Earthquakes player.
