Earlier this month, more than 100,000 people from California, other states and over 70 countries attended the 2025 World Ag Expo in Tulare.

The event, the largest agricultural show of its kind, featured more than 1,200 exhibitors showcasing cutting-edge technology and equipment, and offered many opportunities for networking, education and business in one of the country’s most productive ag regions.

And, as usual, PG&E had a big presence at the show.

This was PG&E’s 26th year attending the event. This year, the PG&E Pavillion featured an exhibition center that occupied 1,600 square feet of the show’s floor and displayed information about ag partnerships for innovative, renewable natural gas (RNG) production, agriculture management and undergrounding of electric lines among other topics.

PG&E also held a live demonstration of frontline coworkers installing equipment on utility poles. Additionally, the Pavillion featured several electric tractors, reinforcing PG&E’s commitment and support to electrification on the farm. Many attendees also stopped by the PG&E booth to inquire about opportunities within the company and asked how they could apply to join PG&E’s work to deliver clean, safe, and reliable energy.

A key highlight for 2025 was the seminar on RNG, held in partnership with Southern California Gas Company. Eric Larson, PG&E Gas Interconnection Manager, and Eric Kroh, SoCalGas Project Manager – Energy Markets (RNG), presented “Let's Get Connected - Interconnecting Renewable Gas with California Utilities." During the 30-minute session, they discussed the benefits of RNG and opportunities for California’s ag community to join with PG&E and others to develop, produce, and deliver clean RNG.

“We are trying to create opportunities to make what was once too difficult, easier for those interested in interconnecting RNG with our pipeline system,” Larson said.

California’s ag community is an important partner in PG&E’s roadmap to achieve 30 billion Cubic Feet (Bcf) of RNG flowing in the company’s pipeline system by 2030 and a decarbonized, net-zero energy system by 2040. PG&E interconnected its first commercial RNG producer project in 2021, and has since added six interconnection points, enabling the company to receive pipeline-quality RNG from both gathering lines and from trucked in sources. As of January 2025, PG&E has received more than 3.4 Bcf of California-sourced renewable natural gas into its pipeline system, mostly from dairies.
