The PG&E Currents news website has a new look and a new home.

The site began in 2011 to share PG&E's perspectives and demonstrate how we work to provide safe, reliable and affordable energy for millions of Californians. The site is popular, attracting 1 million visitors in 2023.

The newly launched Currents site was designed to feel more like an online energy magazine for customers.

The focus is to offer insights and resources to help our customers learn about and navigate the changing energy landscape, updated throughout each week.

Tips on shopping and owning an EV. Articles about cooking with electricity at home. News about the ways our grid is becoming more modern and resilient. Updates on our gas and electric safety projects in our hometowns.

Articles will be written by voices inside and outside the company, to bring a range of perspectives. Among these voices are a local expert on EVs and a PG&E coworker who will focus on how she saves energy and money at her new home. There’s also an “In the News” section featuring media stories highlighting PG&E’s successes.

Articles and videos will also include links for easy posting on social media sites like Facebook and LinkedIn.

You’ll find the new Currents on pge.com, the company’s main website. Content will be organized into six categories:

  • Safety
  • Customer Service
  • Future of Energy
  • Energy Saving
  • Our Hometowns
  • People of PG&E
