Through the Better Together Summer Jobs program, we partner with local Boys & Girls Club chapters to provide youth, ages 15–18, with career education and job training. Participants who successfully complete the six-week training program can apply and compete for six-week paid summer jobs at local nonprofit organizations and small- or medium-sized businesses. Since 2012, we've provided training and summer jobs for youth in communities all across California.
The Boys & Girls Clubs have long provided youth with career training, but couldn’t connect young trainees to jobs until recently. In 2012, PG&E partnered with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Fresno County to pilot the Better Together Summer Jobs program, providing training for more than 200 teens and jobs for 55 of those teens during its first year.
