World's best gas and electric workers compete

Watch some of the world's best gas and electric workers show off their skills. Rodeo events include pole climbs, simulated rescues, pipe cutting, hand digging, and more. As usual safety comes first, the quickest and safest competitors win.

What's at stake?

Top finishers from PG&E will travel to national and international competitions for electric and gas workers.

Calling all competitors

Do you have what it takes to make your company and your union proud? Teams and apprentices are encouraged to register!

 

Electric competitors

  • Teams must include two Qualified Electrical Workers (QEWs).
  • A QEW, Miscellaneous Equipment Operator (MEO) or Apprentice can complete the teams.
  • Each journey team must bring a judge.

Gas competitors

  • Each team must include one Class A driver.

Your judges are volunteers who are or have been qualified linemen or gas workers.

* The number of teams competing in the relay is determined by the total number of competing teams and is set by the Rodeo Committee.

We need judges!

This event requires 55 to 65 judges. All current and former journeyman linemen qualify! Just complete the application. You'll receive a confirmation email with more information.

The exhibit setup starts at 6 a.m. All vehicles must be out of the booth area by 7:30 a.m. One 10 x 10 easy-up tent, one 6’ table and two chairs will be provided with each booth. For questions about sponsorships, email PGERodeo@totalsafety.com.

Sponsorship package details

 

Reserve exhibit space at the Rodeo through a sponsorship: Bronze ($500), Silver ($2,500) or Gold ($5,000). 

Your sponsorship will help underwrite food, refreshments, kids' activities, and items for the Rodeo's raffle. $500 from each Gold sponsorship will be awarded as a scholarship for Northwest Lineman College. The scholarships will be presented during the awards ceremony with recognition of the donor.
