RES-BCT cap tracker

As of the fourth quarter of 2017, PG&E has thirty-two customers who have interconnected under the Renewable Energy Self-Generation Bill Credit Transfer (RES-BCT) program. At this time, 23.5 megawatts (MW) are interconnected, and another 41.4 MW are in the midst of the interconnection process. Of the 105.25 MW cap for this program, 64.9 MW are online or in process.


Criteria for RES-BCT includes:


  • A customer must be a city, county, special district, school district, university, political subdivision or other local public agency.
  • The maximum generator size is 5MW, and multiple arrangements are allowed.
  • The benefiting account may be at remote locations within the same city or county.
  • Generating and benefiting accounts in the "arrangement" must be on a time-of-use rate schedule.
