Power your future with a PG&E scholarship

Overview

California’s future depends on the success of its students. PG&E offers scholarships to help students thrive and innovate in college. These scholarships support Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) students as well as other majors.

 

In 2025, PG&E gave out nearly 150 scholarships. These STEM-focused or Employee Resource Group and Engineering Network Group-sponsored scholarships ranged from $1,000 to $10,000.

Important dates

  • Opens: Jan. 12, 2026
  • Deadline: Mar. 12, 2026

How to qualify

Applicants must be a:

  • High school senior or graduate
  • Student that has earned their GED
  • Current college undergraduate, OR
  • Non-traditional student or veteran
    • Returning to school or pursuing an undergraduate degree for the first time

Applicants must:

  • Reside in PG&E’s service territory, or
  • Be a dependent of a resident in PG&E’s service territory

Applicants must:

  • Plan to enroll as an undergraduate at a four-year college or university in California or a Historical Black College or University (HBCU) in the U.S.
  • Be pursuing their first undergraduate degree
  • Be pursuing a degree in one of the following STEM disciplines:
    • Engineering (e.g. electrical, mechanical, industrial, environmental construction, power and/or energy)
    • Computer Science/Information Systems
    • Environmental and Biological Sciences
    • Math, Statistics, and Physics

PG&E ERG & ENG Scholarships

These scholarships are designed for students committed to specific communities or causes. They provide an essential bridge of connection to our diverse customers And funded by donations raised by members of these groups and coworkers at PG&E.

 

Scholarships are open to all students and have no gender or race requirements. Students are encouraged to apply for more than one or all eligible scholarships.

How to qualify

Applicants for ALL the scholarships listed below must be a:

  • High school senior or graduate
  • Student that has earned their GED
  • Current undergraduate or postsecondary undergraduate student OR
  • Non-traditional student or veteran
    • Returning to school or pursuing an undergraduate degree for the first time

Applicants must:

  • Reside in PG&E’s service territory
  • Plan to enroll full-time in an accredited college or university in the fall
