INSIDEtracc Access

Tuesday, December 07, 2004

California Gas Transmission representatives have received a few calls from INSIDEtracc users who have experienced problems logging into the system when using a Web browser "Favorites" link or INSIDEtracc icon established on the desktop. INSIDEtracc access is best achieved by logging into the system from the Pipe Ranger Home page.

The History

The INSIDEtracc system uses a rotation method to connect users to one of three servers. If one server is down for maintenance, the user will be connected to one of the remaining two servers, with seamless transition.

The Problem

A few customers save the INSIDEtracc logon page to their browser favorites list or set that page up as an icon on the desktop. While this may seem to save a few seconds accessing INSIDEtracc, the user is actually locked into one specific server instead of having access to all INSIDEtracc servers. The rotation process cannot be achieved, and may result in connection problems for the user.

The Solution

When logging onto INSIDEtracc, always use the logon link on the Pipe Ranger Home page. This will ensure the quickest access to INSIDEtracc.
