2005 Gas Rate Case

Tuesday, November 30, 2004

Late last week, an agreement was reached between all involved parties in Pacific Gas and Electric Company's Gas Transmission and Storage 2005 Rate Case (A.04-03-021). The Settlement was discussed at a Prehearing Conference on Monday, August 2nd, and a proposed settlement schedule was approved by the Administrative Law Judge. The parties will prepare and execute a formal Settlement Agreement to be filed with the California Public Utilities Commission in late August.

If approved by the CPUC, the Settlement will set transportation and storage rates for the 2005 through 2007 time period. In addition, there will be no open season for transportation and storage capacity. Instead, capacity will continue to be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

PG&E expects the CPUC to approve the Settlement by the end of December.
