Rate Reduction Coming July 1

Tuesday, March 29, 2005

Yesterday Pacific Gas and Electric Company filed Advice Letter 2556-G, implementing certain tariff revisions approved by the California Public Utilities Commission in its recent decision on PG&E's General Rate Case (D.04-05-055). One aspect of this GRC decision is adoption of final Administrative and General (A&G) expenses, reducing the revenue requirement for gas transmission and storage services approximately two percent (2%). Accordingly, maximum tariff rates for California Gas Transmission products will decline from between half a percent (0.5%) and two and six-tenths percent (2.6%), depending on the path and service, effective July 1, 2004.

Pipe Ranger's Rates pages are now updated to reflect these reduced prices now available for CGT services. These revisions will not impact backbone transmission, storage, or market center services contracted at negotiated rates.
