The groundhog has done his thing and spring is just around the corner! The likelihood of a system composite temperature below 27.4 degrees Fahrenheit is now negligible. Accordingly, California Gas Transmission (CGT) announces that Pacific Gas and Electric Company's Abnormal Peak Day (APD) window is closed for this winter.

What does this mean?

The probability of an APD prior to next winter is nearly zero. An APD occurs when Pacific Gas and Electric Company's system composite temperature falls below 27.4 degrees Fahrenheit.

The chances that Cold Winter Day conditions (a system composite temperature of 38 degrees Fahrenheit) will strike this winter are greatly reduced. Accordingly, local curtailments or diversions driven by cold weather are far less likely -- although still possible.
