Pacific Gas and Electric Company's California Gas Transmission is pleased to announce Golden Gate Market Center and Gold Coast Transportation contracts are now available for 2005 and beyond.

As discussed in previous Pipe Ranger News Articles, the California Public Utilities Commission last month set rates for 2004, reaffirmed the Gas Accord market structure through 2005 and approved California Gas Transmission's proposal to offer standard firm storage and transportation services for up to fifteen years. This clarity makes now an excellent time to solidify your future gas supply arrangements.

CGT is now offering the following services for 2005 and beyond:

• Standard firm storage (G-SFS) contracts with terms from one to fifteen years. Service under this new rate schedule is available beginning April 1, 2004.
• Negotiated firm storage (G-NFS) contracts with terms from one to fifteen years. Service is available beginning April 1, 2004.
• Annual standard firm transportation to both on-system (G-AFT) and off-system (G-AFTOFF) destinations. Terms from one through fifteen years are available and customers may choose modified fixed variable (MFV) or straight fixed variable (SFV) rate design. By tariff, CGT may not sell more than 400 MDth/d of Redwood path capacity or 200 MDth/d of Baja path capacity with terms exceeding five years.

Future Rates

Multi-year standard firm services are only offered at standard tariff rates. These standard rates typically vary by year and are approved by CPUC from time to time. In March Pacific Gas and Electric Company will file an application proposing 2005 gas transmission and storage rates. A final decision from the CPUC on this proposal is expected late in 2004. Early in 2005, Pacific Gas and Electric Company will file its proposed rates and market structure for 2006 and beyond.
