Upcoming Market Opportunity

Tuesday, March 29, 2005

As many as one hundred core cogeneration customers may soon be seeking a noncore supplier under the recently adopted Gas Accord II-2004 changes. About sixty of these cogen customers have annual natural gas loads of 5,000 Dth or less, about twenty have loads between 5,000 and 10,000 Dth per year, and approximately twenty have annual loads greater than 10,000 Dth.

These cogen customers will have the option to transfer from core service to G-EG noncore service on April 1, 2004. They will need to find a noncore gas supplier soon in order to exercise this option.

Currently, a list of natural gas suppliers is available. However, some of these contacts may have a business focus targeting larger end-use customers. California Gas Transmission would like to make a specific list available to these cogeneration customers that only includes gas suppliers interested in their size load.

If you are interested in being included in such a list, please contact CGT Account Services Representative Tilda Tannehill at 415.973.6908. In addition to your contact information, please indicate if you are interested in serving customers with loads of: a) 10,000 Dth per year or greater, b) 5,000 Dth per year or greater, or c) any size. The list will be made available on Pipe Ranger starting on Friday, January 23.

Also, if you are interested in being included in the broader List of Natural Gas Suppliers, or need to update your information on that list, please let us know that as well.
