California Gas Transmission just expanded the volume of energy content information available on its Pipe Ranger Web site.
Pipe Ranger's Therm Factors page now features links to the heating values that comprise each individual therm factor. Each heating value is a sampled measure of energy content (BTUs per standard cubic foot) from a particular BTU area on Pacific Gas and Electric Company's pipeline system. The new Therm Factors Frequently Asked Questions explains the relationship between these measures of energy content.
Heating values are of special interest to customers located in the few BTU areas that are not sampled daily. Since Pipe Ranger does not provide Gas Quality Information for these areas, heating values provide a useful indication of energy content.
Please contact your CGT Account Services Representative if you have questions about information on Pipe Ranger.
