Open Season Volumes

Tuesday, February 01, 2005

On September 12, 2002, many eligible California Gas Transmission customers chose to extend their firm contracts into 2003. Now that these Extension rights have been exercised, the Open Season is your best means of obtaining reliable firm services for 2003.

Today CGT announced the following annual firm capacity available in its Open Season:

Redwood 905,000 Dth/d
Baja 174,000 Dth/d
Storage Inventory 1,500,000 Dth
Storage Withdrawal 50,000 Dth/d

Whether hot or cold, firm services have proven their value over time. Seasoned California players will remember days cold enough to fill both the Redwood and Baja paths. Veterans also know a hot summer day is not the time to look for as-available space into southern California. Firm shippers can fully capture large spreads in times of high demand, while as-available shippers might hope for only a small share. For all these reasons and more, CGT firm services have been largely sold out in each of the last two years despite wildly fluctuating daily price spreads.

Best of all, the Open Season offers all the benefits of firm services at the best price available, the annual firm rate. Why take a chance and wait to see if seasonal firm is available later-at a twenty percent rate premium? Why hope that as-available will flow when you really need it? The Open Season offers the reliability you want at a great price, right now.

To contract now for the future, simply deliver your Open Season Request for Service to CGT by 5:00 p.m., Pacific Time, Thursday, October 3, 2002.
