In preparation for new shrinkage rates effective on gas day March 1, 2002 (reference Pipe Ranger's Shrinkage Reminder article), California Gas Transmission modified the INSIDEtracc system this morning. An unanticipated side effect of this modification caused INSIDEtracc to not shrink some nominations when entered with a Transportation ID or entered using receipt volumes.
To correct the problem, CGT calculated new receipt volumes, based on delivered volumes, for all nominations in the system. This process resulted in receipt volumes for some Timely nominations for gas day February 27, 2002 being inaccurately high, which in turn generated excess cut codes reflective of the inflated receipt volumes.
The problem is now corrected, and artificially inflated nominations for tomorrow should be corrected by Evening cycle confirmed process. Although the excess cut codes will remain on customers' 100 reports, receipt volumes should reflect actual nominated receipt volumes with the Evening cycle 100 reports.
