Self-Balancing is one of ten new options Pacific Gas and Electric Company offers pursuant to its OII Settlement. The Settlement also contemplates an Internet Web page of meter access options. Both these aspects of the OII Settlement are discussed below.

Meter Access Options

Pacific Gas and Electric Company's Web site  now offers a description of the various gas metering options available to customers, including access to Automated Meter Reading (AMR) data, meter pulse data, and options for meter and add-on device ownership. Gas suppliers may be interested in these options for their end-use customers.

Self-Balancing Open Season Results

During the February open season, no customer chose the Self-Balancing option. The next opportunity to elect Self-Balancing will be during the February, 2002 open season for the period April 1, 2002 through March 31, 2003.
