Building the next-generation energy workforce

At PG&E we believe in the power that education has in strengthening a community. To give our next generation of Californians more opportunities to learn and succeed in higher education, we’re awarding scholarships to help further the studies of local students interested in being a part of California’s clean energy future.

Our commitment to education and workforce development

PG&E has a long history of supporting local educational initiatives, providing more than $75 million over the last decade. Since 2012, our Better Together STEM Scholarship Program has awarded more than $3 million to accomplished students based on a combined demonstration of community leadership, personal triumph, financial need and academic achievement.

In addition to the Better Together STEM Scholarship Program, our 10 employee resource groups (ERGs) voluntarily raise funds for scholarships to help offset the cost of higher education. Since 1989, more than $4 million in ERG scholarships have been received by thousands of recipients.

We have many programs for students, graduates and MBAs to explore our company and the opportunities we offer. When you join PG&E for a summer or for your career, you have the chance to make a difference for over 15 million Californians every day. You also become an important part of the community, as you learn to live our values and embrace our mission to serve. We’ve embarked on building a new California, one with reliable, efficient and sustainable energy.
