OFO Forum 2007
Tuesday, September 18, 2007
8:30 a.m. to Noon
Pacific Energy Center
851 Howard Street, San Francisco
Venue -- The Green Room

Over the past decade since Operational Flow Orders (OFOs) were instituted, PG&E's accuracy of forecasting gas pipeline inventory has improved and several actions have been taken to reduce the impact of OFOs. PG&E has also added a number of resources to its Pipe Ranger Web site to provide customers with information and tools to help determine if pipeline system inventory is headed toward an OFO. Many of these resources were generated based on customer feedback about how they could better manage their business during an OFO occurrence.

In our continuing effort to improve the necessary OFO process, PG&E will hold a forum to help participants increase their understanding of conditions leading to OFOs and to explore ideas about how PG&E and its customers can more effectively manage the impact on their businesses during high or low pipeline inventory situations.

OFO Forum topics will include:

An overview of PG&E's planning process

  • Forecasting
  • Supply vs. Demand Swings

Managing Pipeline Inventory

  • OFOs -- System-wide; Customer Specific
  • Early
  • Late

Holding to Prior Cycle Scheduled Volumes

  • Off-system and Storage
