INSIDEtracc Access From Pipe Ranger

Friday, February 23, 2007

PG&E's California Gas Transmission encourages customers to access INSIDEtracc directly from the Pipe Ranger Web site link rather than from a bookmarked link. For your convenience, a new INSIDEtracc, Logon selection has been added to the top navigation bar on Pipe Ranger.

The INSIDEtracc system uses a rotation method to connect users to one of three servers. By using the home page link, if one server is down for maintenance, the user will be connected to one of the remaining two servers with seamless transition.

A few customers save the INSIDEtracc logon page to their browser favorites list or set that page up as an icon on the desktop. While this may seem to save a few seconds accessing INSIDEtracc, the user is actually locked into one specific server instead of having access to all INSIDEtracc servers. The rotation process cannot be achieved, and may result in connection problems for the user.

When logging onto INSIDEtracc, always use the logon link on the Pipe Ranger Home page. This will ensure the quickest access to INSIDEtracc.
