Effective June 11, 2002, Pacific Gas and Electric Company's California Gas Transmission revised some of Pipe Ranger's Daily Demand by Customer Class data. Specifically, cogeneration gas demand was moved from the Noncore Electric Generation category to the Noncore Industrial category. CGT made one exception for one dispatchable cogeneration plant. This plant's demand remains classified as Noncore Electric Generation. The new method reduces volumes in Noncore Electric Generation demand approximately 25%.
CGT made this adjustment as part of an effort to improve the accuracy of electric generation forecasts and because cogenerators use gas for both industrial processes and electric generation.
