If you wish to reduce a nomination in either the Intraday 1 (ID1) or Intraday 2 (ID2) nomination cycles, the volume to which that nomination can be reduced (the "floor" volume) will be calculated according to elapsed pro-ration. Essentially, this calculation determines what portion of your nomination has already flowed at the time you wish to reduce it.

Nominations can be reduced to zero for a gas flow day from the Timely or Evening cycle, because zero gas will have flowed for that gas day by the deadline times for those cycles. If the user attempts to reduce the scheduled volume below the floor for either ID1or ID2 nominations, INSIDEtracc will show a dialog box displaying the floor volume, indicating to the user that the volume entered cannot be reduced below that level.

Elapsed Pro Rata Formulas

The following Elapsed Pro Rata formulas will be used to calculate the floor volume for both the ID1 and ID2 nominations in INSIDEtracc:

ID1 Floor: At 3:00 p.m. on gas flow day, 8 hours of gas has already physically flowed into the system. Based on the Elapsed Pro Rata concept for ID1 nominations, a customer cannot reduce their nomination below this floor volume.

For example, a nomination with a scheduled volume for the Evening cycle of 300 was reduced to 260 on ID1. This reduction is valid because, using the formula below, the reduced volume is higher than the ID1 floor of 100: Formula: (Evening Scheduled Volume / 24 hrs. of gas day) x 8 hrs. already flowed Example: (300 / 24) x 8 = 100.

ID2 Floor: At 7:00 p.m. on gas flow day, 12 hours of gas has already physically flowed into the system. Based on the Elapsed Pro Rata concept for ID2 nominations, a customer cannot reduce their nomination below this floor volume.

No ID1 Reduction

If there were no reductions in the previous ID1 cycle, the following formula must be used since the hourly flow rate is the same for the gas flow day:

Formula: (ID1 Scheduled Volume / 24 hrs. of gas day) x 12 hrs. already flowed

Example: (300 / 24) x 12 = 150

Reduction in ID1

If the nomination was reduced in the previous ID1 cycle, the following formula must be used because the hourly flow rate has changed for the remaining 16 hours of the gas flow day (4 hours from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. that day, 12 hours from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. the following day):

Formula: {[(ID1 Scheduled Volume - ID1 Floor) / 16 hrs. left of gas day] x 4 hrs. flowed since ID1}+ ID1 Floor

Example using 260 (reduced ID1 nomination) and 100 (ID1 floor) from the ID1 example used above: {[( 260 - 100) / 16] x 4} + 100 = 140 The following diagram compares the scheduling timeline to the actual physical flow day:

Note

This change is effective on a nomination by nomination basis. Therefore, the floor volume will be taken into account and will affect nominations redirected from one destination to an alternate destination through an ID1 or ID2 cycle nomination.
