Diablo Canyon unit 1 returns to full power

Avila Beach, Calif.— Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) today announced that operators at Diablo Canyon Power Plant safely returned Unit 1 to full power on Tuesday, January 6, following a planned outage to repair a feedwater heater on the non-nuclear side of the plant.

 

Unit 1 was taken offline on Dec. 30, 2014, to perform the work. Unit 2 continues to safely operate at 100 percent power.
