Between now and the final resolution of the 2019 Gas Transmission and Storage Rate Case (Rate Case), California Gas Transmission (CGT) will provide regular updates so that our customers are aware of issues and decisions as they unfold.
PG&E’s CGT filed its Rate Case on November 17, 2017.
On April 24, 2018, PG&E received Commissioner Rechtschaffen and Administrative Law Judge Roscow’s Scoping Memo and Ruling of Assigned Commissioner and Administrative Law Judge. The full text of this ruling is made available through the CPUC website. Evidentiary hearings started as scheduled on September 17, 2018, and ended on October 12, 2018.
The remaining anticipated schedule is:
Additionally, PG&E has entered into several stipulations with other parties in an effort to resolve several issues in the Rate Case. These stipulations cover GT&S reporting, funding for technology, security, and environmental, depreciation, throughput, the backbone rate differential between the Baja and Redwood paths, and post-test year ratemaking.
It is worth noting that, the Backbone Path Rate Differential Stipulation calls for the rate differentials between the Baja and Redwood backbone rates to increase from the current $0.04 per Dth to $0.10 per Dth in 2019. The stipulation also calls for the rate differential to increase to $0.135 in 2020, $0.17 in 2021 and $0.18 in 2022 if the rate case cycle is extended to 2022. Note any change in the differential will not start until after receiving a final Commission decision which is not expected until mid-2019 or later.
Please stay tuned to Pipe Ranger for regular updates as the Rate Case continues to move forward.
