In a recent filing (Advice 3810-G) Pacific Gas & Electric Company requested an adjustment of the storage in-kind shrinkage allowance from the current 1.0 percent to 0.9 percent. PG&E is requesting notice of this advice letter approval by March 15, 2017, with changes to gas Rule 21 (Transportation of Natural Gas) to be effective April 1, 2017.

The in-kind shrinkage allowance of 0.9 percent is applicable to all injection storage quantities under rate Schedules G-CFS, G-SFS, G-NFS, and G-NAS, in addition to any applicable transmission and distribution shrinkage.

Final approval to this information will be posted on Pipe Ranger as it is received. Rate information will be posted on Pipe Ranger's Shrinkage Factors page, which also has a link to a Calculating Shrinkage page that includes formulae and examples of shrinkage calculations.

If you have any questions regarding the storage shrinkage change effective April 1, please contact your California Gas Transmission representative.
