5th Cycle Launch Will Affect Nominations

Currently, PG&E’s California Gas Transmission supports four nomination cycles: Timely, Evening, Intraday 1 (ID1), and Intraday 2 (ID2). Like most pipelines across the country, effective gas day April 1, 2016, a 5th nomination cycle will be introduced, Intraday 3 (ID3).

It’s important to note that the addition of this new ID3 cycle will affect standing (baseload) nominations that extend beyond the April 1st implementation date. Any nominations with a start date on or before March 31, 2016 and an end date after March 31, 2016 fall into this category (e.g. a nomination with a start date of January 1, 2016 and an end date of December 31, 2016).

On the night of March 31st, CGT will delete the portion of any such nominations that extends beyond March 31 (using the above example, the portions of the standing nomination from 1/1/16 through 3/31/16 would remain in the system while the portions of the nomination from 4/1/16 through 12/31/16 would cease to exist).

Customers with such nominations who wish to keep them valid for their original date range will need to resubmit a new nomination with a start date of April 1st and a new package code to make it unique. Please be aware that this can be done at any time, and it is not necessary to wait until March 31st.

Again, only customers who have standing nominations that extend beyond the April 1st cutover date need to take this action.

If you have any questions about these changes, please do not hesitate to reach out to the CGT Gas Scheduling team or your CGT Account Manager. Also, watch out for the yellow ID3 icon on our Pipe Ranger news articles. That icon is our way of letting you know that something 5th cycle-related may affect you.
