Storage Shrinkage Changes Coming April 1, 2014

Monday, March 17, 2014

In a recent filing (Advice 3454-G This link will open in a new window) Pacific Gas & Electric Company requested an adjustment of the storage in-kind shrinkage allowance from the current 1.1 percent to 1.2 percent. This adjustment is effective April 1, 2014.

The in-kind shrinkage allowance of 1.2 percent is applicable to all injection storage quantities under rate Schedules G-CFS, G-SFS, G-NFS, and G-NAS, in addition to any applicable transmission and distribution shrinkage.

This rate is posted on Pipe Ranger's Shrinkage Factors page, which also has a link to a Calculating Shrinkage page that includes formulae and examples of shrinkage calculations.

If you have any questions regarding the storage shrinkage change effective April 1, please contact your California Gas Transmission representative.
