Daylight Savings Time will once again spring up this Sunday, March 9, at 2:00 a.m., and most of us will move our clocks forward one hour. In past years, this was a problematic time change for our California Gas Transmission customers who track their meter usage data every day, as meter usage data was also moved forward by an hour.
However, as we reported in our July 2013 article , we were able to make changes during 2013 to have your meter usage data available by approximately 3:23 a.m., Pacific standard time or 4:23 a.m., Pacific daylight time, a half hour earlier than previously. So, although "spring forward" still means a change to an hour later for your meter data availability, the impact is less burdensome this year.
Please contact your CGT Account Manager with any questions you may have. Enjoy the "longer" days, "extra" sunshine, and use plenty of sunscreen. And hum along with us, "We're walking on sunshine, whoa oh...and don't it feel good!"
