Are You Getting Ready For Winter?

Friday, November 08, 2013

While California is currently enjoying warm days, winter weather is on its way. Snow showers in the Sierra Nevada mountains could arrive as early as next week. To prepare for winter weather that will, sooner or later, be here, California Gas Transmission has updated its Getting Ready for Winter This link will open in a new window document.

CGT recommends taking some time to prepare for the upcoming winter season before it fully arrives. Although PG&E's pipeline system is robust, extreme cold temperatures can impact deliveries to customers.

Getting Ready for Winter offers readiness tips for winter, suggesting actions to prepare you for the possibility of an extreme cold weather event. It outlines CGT's procedures for an Operational Flow Order (OFO), Emergency Flow Order (EFO), Involuntary Diversion, and Local Curtailment. All CGT customers, balancing agents, core procurement groups, and noncore end-use customers should be familiar with this information.

As the season unfolds, Pipe Ranger will bring you timely news of winter and its impacts on PG&E's pipeline system. Your CGT Representative is also available to answer your questions about moving gas during the winter season.

So make a nice cup of hot chocolate and sit in front of the fire to review a copy of Getting Ready for Winter. It just doesn't get any better than that!
