Limited Noms at Ruby Interconnect for Gas Day August 13

Wednesday, August 14, 2013

Planned maintenance on the part of Ruby Pipeline caused limited flows at the Ruby-PG&E Interconnect (Onyx Hill) on gas day, Tuesday, August 13, 2013. Flows at Onyx Hill, coming into PG&E's California Gas Transmission system were zero for the Timely, Evening, and Intraday 1 nomination cycles.

When confirming gas for the Intraday 2 nomination cycle, CGT was limited to the amount of gas that could flow into the CGT system from Onyx Hilll, taking into consideration three things:

  1. The total capacity available on the Redwood Path.
  2. The amount of gas that CGT had previously scheduled to flow from Gas Transmission Northwest at Malin.
  3. The fact that, for Intraday 2, there are only 12 hours of flow remaining in the gas day.

Although Ruby Pipeline LLC, on their website, was showing the capability of flowing 730 MMcf at Onyx Hill for Intraday 2, CGT's operational capability to take quantities at Onyx Hill for Intraday 2 was limited to 320 MMcf for the remainder of the gas day, based on the reasons stated above.
