E-Mail Cut Reports: What and Why?

Wednesday, May 08, 2013

PG&E's California Gas Transmission was asked if a customer can receive one e-mail cut report for each cycle, rather than two. We don't want you left with only half the story! The two sets of cut reports, which happen each processing cycle, show different information. One is sent after the confirm process and one after the schedule process. The second e-mail cut report is not a list of cumulative cuts from the two processes. Read on for "the rest of the story"...

E-mail cut reports are sent to a subscriber eight times a day: after each confirm cycle (four) and after each schedule cycle (four) and will indicate, by nomination, any cuts received. An e-mail cut report will also be sent if you did not receive any cuts.

The e-mail cut report sent after the confirm cycle process will inform you of cuts generated by PG&E and allows you time to react to the cuts, call counterparties, change nomination values, etc., before the next nomination deadline. If there were no confirm cycle cuts to your nominations, the "Subject" line will say "PG&E Confirmation Done, No Cuts."

The e-mail cut report sent after the schedule cycle process will inform you of cuts generated by the upstream interconnects and again, allows you time to react to those cuts, call upstream counterparties, change upstream volumes, etc., before the next nomination deadline. If there were no schedule cycle cuts to your nominations, the "Subject" line will say "PG&E Schedule Done, No Cuts."

Two separate reports help you target where to take action, either via INSIDEtracc or with your upstream counterparty. Receipt of these e-mail reports is also an indication that the process has been completed and 100 and 110 Reports are ready to be viewed or printed.
