Even though the weather in northern California over the last few days seems more like summer, don't be caught off guard. Now is the time to prepare for potential extreme cold weather events such as Local Curtailment, Emergency Flow Orders (OFOs) or Involuntary Diversions.

To help customers prepare, CGT has updated the "Getting Ready for Winter" document. Please take the time now to become familiar with the information in this document. It is advantageous to establish a protocol in advance outlining the actions you should take in the event a Local Curtailment, Emergency Flow Order (EFO), or Involuntary Diversion is implemented. Communication between end-use customers and their suppliers is essential to keeping gas supply and usage in balance.

As happens every year, all of PG&E's noncore customers will be receiving letters urging them to prepare for cold weather events as well. For those noncore customers in potentially constrained areas, these letters will explain their allowed burns (i.e. usage) in the event of a Stage 1, Stage 2, or Stage 3 Local Curtailment. If you haven't already done so, now is a good time to contact your noncore end-use customers and discuss with them their plan of action should a Local Curtailment be called this winter.
