Tight Capacity and Tight Inventory

Thursday, September 01, 2011

PG&E's California Gas Transmission continues to take pressure reductions on its pipeline as part of the process of ensuring safe and reliable operation of its natural gas transmission system. The next pressure reduction will be effective starting gas day Saturday, September 3rd. While it will not further reduce the capacity on the Baja Path, it will impact the amount of gas that can flow off-system at Kern River Station to SoCal Gas. The Pipeline Maintenance News page has been updated to show the reduction of capacity available at Kern River Station to 40 MMcf/day for the foreseeable future.

CGT is doing everything it can to minimize negative impacts to its customers. We will try to continue the wider (15%) high/low OFO tolerance bands; however, tighter capacities and tighter inventory may cause the need to tighten tolerance bands. Please continue to assist us in being able to keep the tolerance bands at 15% by continuing to closely match supply and usage, especially during this Labor Day weekend.
