CGT Closes APD Window

Friday, February 05, 2010

California Gas Transmission is announcing the close of the Abnormal Peak Day (APD) window. An APD is defined as the coldest temperature that will be exceeded every 90 years, on average. The system weighted mean temperature for an APD is estimated to be 28 degrees Fahrenheit.

For natural gas shippers in northern California, this means the likelihood of experiencing abnormal temperatures in California as we head from Winter into Spring is greatly reduced. Accordingly, local curtailments or involuntary diversions driven by cold weather are far less likely, although still possible.

Please contact your CGT Account Services Representative if you have any questions about the APD window.
