Recent Bug Found in INSIDEtracc System

Monday, December 22, 2008

California Gas Transmission (CGT) recently discovered the following bug in the INSIDEtracc system. Our technical staff is currently researching the issue. In the interim, please be aware of the following situation:

Marketer A nominates in the Timely cycle. Marketer B does not match the nomination in the Timely cycle. Marketer A will see a "Nom-02" cut code on their 100 Report (confirming party did not nominate). Marketer B puts their nomination in the Evening cycle. When CGT Gas Scheduling runs the Evening confirm process, the INSIDEtracc system is not matching up these nominations in the Evening cycle, but rather is putting these into the Intraday 1 cycle.

If both parties do nothing more, then during the Intraday 1 cycle, the system will finally match up these nominations. In the old INSIDEtracc system, the nominations would have been matched in the Evening cycle.

The easy solution is for both parties to talk to each other beforehand, and agree that they will be nominating in the same cycle.

However, if this situation is found after the fact (e.g. after the Schedule process has been run for the Timely nomination cycle, but before the deadline for the Evening cycle), please follow the following process (continuing the example from above):

Marketer A reduces their Timely nomination to zero in the Query Replace screen. Marketer A creates a new nomination with a package, and the system tags this as an Evening nom. If Marketer B has not yet submitted a nom for Evening, Marketer B creates a new nomination with a package, and the system tags this as an Evening nom.  (If Marketer B has already submitted this nom for Evening, Marketer B would need to zero out the nomination before entering a new nom with a package.)

CGT Gas Scheduling runs the Evening confirm process and the system will match up these brand new nominations.

We are sorry for the inconvenience this bug may have caused. We will let you know the planned deployment date of the fix as soon as we possibly can. If you have questions, please contact CGT Gas Scheduling.
