Storage Injection Capacity Reduced Oct 28-30 and Nov 3-5

Thursday, October 23, 2008

As reported in a Pipe Ranger article in early June, 2008, Pacific Gas and Electric Company's California Gas Transmission will conduct maintenance work at the Los Medanos storage field, limiting injection capacity. Since the June announcement, the dates for the maintenance have been revised and the work is currently scheduled for October 28-30, and November 3-5, 2008. The CGT System Operations team anticipates a reduction of approximately 112 MMcf/day during these periods.

CGT expects its withdrawal capacity will be sufficient to fully meet the demand for withdrawal services; however, some demand for firm injection services will likely go unmet. Critical gas pipeline balancing services will have first priority to any available injection capacity. Any injection capacity not utilized for balancing services will first be made available for Firm Storage, then As-Available Storage and Parking and Lending services. CGT will work to minimize the inconvenience to our customers.

Please contact your CGT Account Services Representative if you have any questions regarding your gas storage account during this period.
