In response to last Fall's OFO Forum and the subsequent OFO Survey, PG&E's California Gas Transmission is making some requested changes to the OFO process. In the survey, customers strongly advocated for announcement of OFOs earlier in the morning, whenever possible.
Starting April 1st, when conditions indicate, CGT's Gas Control Operations personnel will announce an OFO by 5:30 a.m., Pacific time, for the following day (e.g. on a Tuesday at 5:30 a.m. Pacific time, a system-wide OFO might be called for gas day Wednesday). Any OFOs called at this time will be System Wide OFOs. The OFO will be posted on the Pipe Ranger Web site and the "blast" text message will go out at this earlier time.
CGT's Gas Scheduling personnel will continue to be available at their normal start time, at which time customers' 900 Reports would be made available, and the INSIDEtracc shipper notice and e-mail about the OFO would go out.
Please be aware that on days when an early OFO has not been called, CGT reserves the right to call an OFO at the normal 7:15 a.m. time, or even later in the day, when necessitated by pipeline operating conditions. Also, please be aware that, if conditions do not indicate the necessity of calling an OFO for the following gas day, the "No OFO" posting will continue to happen at approximately 7:15 a.m. as it currently does.
As we move forward with this change in the OFO process, if you have questions or feedback, please give your CGT Account Services Representative a call.
