High BTU Gas for 14 Hours

Tuesday, July 11, 2006

Pacific Gas and Electric Company's California Gas Transmission is currently receiving higher-than-normal heating value gas into its system at Malin, Oregon, starting around 6:00am Pacific time this morning and lasting for approximately 14 hours. This high heating value gas is the result of the Cochrane Stripping Plant in Canada shutting down for a brief period of time.

The BTU value of the delivered gas will range from 1070 to 1080 BTU/cubic foot and is expected to reach the southern portion of CGT's system by the afternoon of Thursday, July 13th. During this period, the BTU level throughout PG&E's system will continue to remain within existing parameters for safe and reliable equipment operation.
