Prior to the new market structure implemented in March 1998, Pacific Gas and Electric Company's Core Procurement and Gas Control worked together to manage the balancing of Pacific Gas and Electric Company's system. Today, Core Procurement is considered a Pacific Gas and Electric Company customer who, like all noncore customers, accumulates monthly imbalances. Core Procurement no longer provides assistance to balance the pipeline system.
