Learn about other energy sources

There are several programs in place for customers in our service area who wish to purchase their electricity from non-PG&E sources—or generate their own. PG&E provides delivery, safety, billing and other services, as necessary.

Learn about Community Choice Aggregation

Community Choice Aggregation (CCA)

This program allows cities and counties to purchase or generate their own electricity, while using PG&E's transmission and distribution system and other services.

Direct Access (DA)

Non-residential customers may enroll in DA through an annual lottery. Once eligible, they can purchase electricity from 3rd-party providers.

Self-Generation Incentive Program (SGIP)

Business customers can receive financial incentives for installing qualifying equipment that generates all or a portion of their energy needs.

LEARN ABOUT ELECTRIC TRANSMISSION SERVICE CONNECTIONS

Electric Transmission Services

Large electric customers can access electricity directly from transmission lines, providing their own transformers to step down voltage. The rates are lower than full-bundled PG&E service.
