Energy Statement


Learn more about the areas highlighted on the energy statement example:

 

1. Account Number

This unique numeric customer account identifier remains with you even if you relocate within our service territory. When you contact us, provide this account number.

 

2. Bill Date

The energy statement is processed on this date.

 

3. Telephone Assistance

Call this main number for fast, automated help or to speak with a customer service representative.

 

4. Local Office Address

This address is for the utility office that serves your area.

 

6. Remittance Address

Send your payment to this address.

 

7. Service Dates

We calculate your statement based on the dates shown in this area, including both the “Bill From” and “Bill To” dates.

 

8. Amount

This area shows the cost of gas and/or electricity that you used during a billing period.

 

9. Taxes

Energy Commission Tax (ECT) and Utility Users’ Tax (UUT) information displays at the bill segment level and is summarized on Page 1 in the Account Summary section. The following information applies to this area:

  • ECT. A tax we collect for the State of California based on your electric use during a billing period. This tax is $0.00022 per kilowatt hour (kWh).
  • Public Purpose Program (PPP) Surcharge. A surcharge we collect from gas customers. The PPP Surcharge is used to fund state-mandated gas assistance programs for low-income customers, energy efficiency programs and public-interest research and development.
  • UUT. A tax we collect for a city or county government. The tax, if any, is a percentage of your energy charges.


10. Previous Balance

This area shows any unpaid amount from your previous statement.

 

11. Payment

This area shows the payment amounts applied to your account since your last statement and the dates we applied them.

 

12. Total Amount Due

This area shows the amount that you currently owe, after we apply any taxes, adjustments and/or prior payments to your account.

 

13. Due Date

Your payment is past due after this date.
