EV Charge Network program participants have two options for pricing at their charging stations: Custom Pricing or Pass-Through Pricing. If you’ve opted for Pass-Through Pricing, find out how you can recover the full cost of the electricity charges you pay.
In Pass-Through Pricing, program participants mirror their Time-of-Use (TOU) A-6 or A-10 rate plan and pass these rates through to EV drivers. The rate plan for your chargers is listed on your billing statement. If you have multiple Service Agreement IDs on your bill, be sure to refer to the "Details of Electric Charges" for the correct Service Agreement corresponding to your EV chargers.
Note that rate plans include non-energy charges (such as the customer charge and the demand charge) in addition to energy charges. Review your plan’s information below to determine how much to add to your pass-through rate, so that you can pass non-energy charges through to drivers.
This rate includes a customer charge that is approximately $20 per month. Sites with ten chargers can typically cover this non-energy charge by adding the appropriate amount in our chart to the TOU energy rates.

This rate includes a customer charge of approximately $140 per month, plus a demand charge. The demand charge is based on the peak amount of electricity your chargers draw from the grid during your billing period. Program participants on A-10 who’ve already received an electric bill for their chargers can use our calculator to suggest an additional amount to add to the TOU energy rates.
Please note: The add-on rate we provide is only an estimate, based on past usage at your site. Your actual usage is likely to vary from month to month. We recommend revisiting this tool periodically to recalculate an appropriate add-on amount.
Electric usage: Enter the total monthly consumption (kWh) of your EV chargers from your last billing statement, shown as “Electric Usage This Period” in the Electric Charges section. Make sure the electric usage is for your EV chargers only. If you have multiple Service Agreement IDs on your bill, be sure to refer to the "Details of Electric Charges" for the correct Service Agreement corresponding to your EV chargers.
Peak demand: Enter the peak electricity demand of your EV chargers from your last billing statement, shown in the Demand Charge line in the Electric Charges section. Make sure the peak demand is for your EV chargers only. If you have multiple Service Agreement IDs on your bill, find the "Details of Electric Charges" section for the correct Service Agreement representing your chargers.

Add the suggested amount directly to TOU energy rates when billing drivers in order to cover your non-energy charges. We recommend revisiting this tool periodically to recalculate an appropriate add-on amount. You may consider including any service charges or transaction fees from your EV Service Provider (EVSP) in the final Pass-Through Pricing amounts. Work with your EVSP to identify the fees or charges to be added.
DISCLAIMER: The suggested add-on pricing is illustrative and an estimate based on past reported usage of your charging stations. PG&E makes no representations or warranties and cannot guarantee the accuracy of the estimated rate add-on to fully recover the non-energy charges on your bill. Your monthly demand charge will vary based on your actual peak electric usage. This calculator may not reflect current rates. The suggested add-on per kilowatt-hour has been rounded to three decimal places for presentation purposes. Program participants are not required to use this tool to calculate a suggested add-on amount.
