PG&E/IBEW Gas Rodeo
Let's get ready to Rodeo!
The PG&E/IBEW Gas Rodeo is a proving ground for employees. Skills are put to the test for a chance to represent PG&E at national competitions in the fall. This year's event is on April 13 and competitors must register by March 30.
Winning Gas Construction Teams advance to the National Gas Rodeo in Kansas City, MO, held in September. Winning Gas Locate Technicians represent PG&E at the National Locate Rodeo in Dallas, TX in October.
2019 event information
DATE: Saturday, April 13
TIME: 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

The competition is open to two-person and four-person teams. The qualifying events include the Meter Set, Service Installation, Hand Dig and Pipe Cut. Teams who qualify in the first part of the rodeo will then move on to the Relay Event. The Relay Event consists of the Truck and Trailer Back-Up, Egg Pick Up, Pipe Squeeze (four-person teams only), Mini Excavator, Regulator Bypass and, finally, Water Cooler stations.

The competition is open to 20 employees (one per division or until all slots are filled). The qualifying events include Gas Locate, Electric Locate and Locate from Hell (LFH).

Bring the whole family!
The Gas Rodeo is a free event. All PG&E employees and their families are invited to attend to cheer on teams, eat lunch and enjoy the many fun family activities that will be on site. Besides the exciting Gas Rodeo events, we'll have a rock climbing wall, face painting, cones, the 811 sand box game and much more!
