Generating your own electricity with Electric Generation Interconnection
Learn about interconnecting to the PG&E electric grid
The Electric Generation Interconnection (EGI) team can help you navigate the process of quickly, safely and efficiently interconnecting to the PG&E electric grid. We can help with almost any self-generation project, whether it’s:
- Rooftop solar energy for your own use
- A large wind farm
- Any project in-between
Choosing the right self-generation system
The type of self-generation system that you install and your plans for using the power that you generate determine which generation path is right for you. Three paths are available:
- Generating electricity for your home or business
- Generating electricity exclusively to sell to PG&E as a Qualifying Facility (QF)
- Selling excess power to PG&E or on the open market
